Senator Harry Reid
Senator Harry Reid was a longtime Democratic leader in the U.S. Senate, representing Nevada from 1987 to 2017. He rose to become the Senate Majority Leader from 2007 to 2015, and the Senate Minority Leader from 2005 to 2007 and from 2015 to 2017. He was known for being a pragmatic and savvy politician who fought for his state’s interests and championed progressive causes such as health care reform, immigration reform, and environmental protection. He retired from the Senate in 2017 and passed away in 2021 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife, Landra, and their five children.
